    I had the same problem with my MKII. DC in the lines and bad tubes were not the issue. The fix? Remove all connections (except power cord ), turn the amp on, leave it for 15-20 min to warm up, then connect your source and headphones and have a listen. Dead silent! Do this every time you want...
