Audio Technica ATH-E70, ATH-E50, ATH-E40 IEMs announced at NAMM 2016

With e70 being a 3ba driver, the bass should be more prominent since u have drivers to drive bass, mids and treble respectively. Never tried the e50 before, but I upgraded from a single ba iem (um pro 10) to the e70.

You could try with a comply ear tip too. You will hear more of the bass and warmth.

The trebles are detailed as well and not harsh. I always find cymbals sound harsh on audio technica products that I've tried  (be it headphones or iems), but not on the e70.      Never tried the IE800 before so I can't really make any comparisons to it.

You can't really discount it for being too analytical since its been designed for that, unless it's not...

Audio Technica ATH-E70, ATH-E50, ATH-E40 IEMs announced at NAMM 2016

Just got myself the ATH-E70 afew days ago. Similar to the scarce reviews found online, I too find the iems alittle more to the bassy side, but you can still hear the mids and treble pretty well.    The sound stage is also alot wider compared to my older pair of westones um pro 10s.    I'm...

Will bass boost and eq tweaks damage in ear monitor drivers?

I have been listening to a pair of westones um pro 10 for a year, and its right monitor recently stopped working. I wonder if this is due to my eq tweaks - I used viper4android to boost my handphone's eq (+ 4 to 6 points for each frequency), boosted the bass by 40%. (Don't get me wrong, I...
