Bought new headphones (Sennheiser hd 600), ears got damaged instantly (Tinnitus).

sorry to hear that :S what you need is good isolation, buying open was the worst mistake, you need some good iems, like the shure 215 or the phillips fidelio s2, or if you can afford it the shure 846 or the akg k3003

Yeah Ive been reading about the A500Xs, they are what you are looking for, warm an full, but balanced, and at 98usd on amazon its a bargain. You should try the shure 440 though, they dont have that full warm sound, bet they are not cold either, they are prefectly balanced with rich mids, and...

I got Sony mdr-x10, how does it compare to xb500 and jvc rx700 or similar bassy headphone? With FiiO e6 and e11

I dont mean you should go for totally neutral headphones, what i want to say is that you should avoid anything that is too extreme, too bright or too bassy, audiotechnica ad700 for example are garbage headphones because they are overly sibilant, bright, harsh and have no bass whatsoever, and...

I got Sony mdr-x10, how does it compare to xb500 and jvc rx700 or similar bassy headphone? With FiiO e6 and e11

Shures are nearly perfect for the price, comfort, isolation and sound, but i think you would not like them, because they dont have that thump, yeah you can hear the bass clearly, but you cant feel the rumble, these cans are optimized for studio so they are very neutral and detailed. I think...

that headphone is really horrible, the x10, it sounds muffled and congested, please, PLEASE, if you need a headphone always look for a neutral-ish headphone, with little coloration if you want, for that price a pair of sennheiser 449s would be 10 times better, its not neutral but it is better...

Why are some headphones more expensive than others?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kD6fcH58_U here you can hear the timbales and the guitar way more clear with the shures

Why are some headphones more expensive than others?

a headphone is more expensive mainly because it has more enginering on it, and it is more expensive because it has a better magnet, higher quality voice coil or an exotic material on the diaphragm.   If you cant hear a diference between your earbuds and the shures is just because you dont have...

Closed back over the ear headphones under 300$. Suggestions?

You should check the sony MDR-1R, i bought them for my dad, they sound excellen from any source due to their low impedance and they are very comfortable, other options are the audiotechnica a900x, vmoda m100, beyerdynamic dt 770 32 ohm, sennheiser momentum, but i think the mdr-1r are better...

Why the Sennheiser HD598s are considered the best headphones in the world. Sennheiser HD598 review.

they are NOT bass lacking, they just have a weird impedance peak, in other words they are hard to drive

$200 headphones for gaming (that are an upgrade over AT AD700)

I dont think the denon reciver is capable enough, but, if you need something closed, without a mic and under 200 you should go with the audiotechnica a500x, or the shure srh 440, i would prefer the sony mdr 1r, is a bit more expensive but it is excellent in all aspects
