I agree, they are not bad headphones, there are just better options out there.

The CAL! are really nice. You could also try finding a DT770 80ohm, I've seen them around $150.   EDIT: The DT770s have a great soundstage for closed headphones. That makes them good for movies and games.

Huh, the Beyers are supposed to be extremely comfortable. I love my DT770s. You could try the generic headband, I really enjoy those on not so comfortable headphones.

Beats are just not good headphones when you can get better for $20(Monoprice 8323s hmm). And when people say they want bass, they can get much better sounding bass for way cheaper. The bass in any beats are very muddy. You're paying for the name pretty much.

It's not that the M50s are bad cans. They're just overhyped and overrated. They'll never reach to the level of beats, but they're just not amazing when you can get better headphones for the same price/not much more/cheaper.
