BeyerDynamic DT770/80 or Grado SR 225?
I have both of these cans and switch back and forth often. They are my best. For me, I find I use my DT770's more than my Grados....but the main cause of that, is isolation. I use my computer as source, and prefer the isolation of the Beyers in most cases. Computer fans and what not. Both...- WiseOx

burn in - facts !!
I'll admit I was a bit of a skeptic about burn-in....until I ran 100hrs of pink noise thru my new DT770's....turned them into a whole different can. I burn in everything now.- WiseOx

What Headphones Are You Using Right Now?
Got to say my DT770/80's hooked up to my LD2++, computer source is getting the most love these days. The SR225's have been gathering dust for a month. I may just have to sell a shwack, and go Darth.- WiseOx

What's the one song that really made you appreciate your headphones?
Luke Doucet - Buttercloud (live)...as I was in the audience when it was recorded, and when I close me eyes, I'm back there.- WiseOx

post your grado mods....
Thanks! Actually, the pads backwards is intentional. Don't they call it the reverse 414 mod or something? Anyway, I like the feel this way better...plus, it hides my hack job of a quarter mod.....or I should say, Loonie mod up in these parts. Canadian dollar was just the right size.- WiseOx

post your grado mods....
Thought I'd post a couple of pics of my modded SR225's. I made use of an old Koss headband I had kicking around. It took a bit of heat from my trusty bic lighter so I could bend those arms in, but other then that, it was 10 minutes of my time, and fully reversable. Way more comfortable...- WiseOx

Grado headband mods?
Yes, to confirm, you can use the DT770 headband. I tried it just this week. pulled the headband off my DT770's, and stuck it on my SR225's for a test. Fit like a glove....snug glove, but it fit. Did't look half bad either. Might have to order an extra couple, if we get the Canadian supplier...- WiseOx

Removing ES7 Earpads?
Ditto, I'd like to see a response to this one. I'm hoping to find out if the leather pads from the ESW9's fit the ES7's....and that eventually you'll be able to buy the leather pads to replace.- WiseOx

$249 Noise Cancelling Headphones for $0.99
Would order a pair, but no shipping to Canada either. If someone is willing to help out a Canuck Head-fi brother, I'd be willing to pay a reasonable premium for the effort to forward a set north. In other news.....as I look out the window, it's just started to snow...and snow hard.- WiseOx

Welcome Back to Head-Fi.org. I'm Sorry About the Extended Outage
Lots of love to the recovery team for all their hard work. Sometimes you don't know how much you appreciate something, until its gone. Glad to have it back. Highly recommend you prioritize getting that "contribution" link fixed, as I imagine there are a few head-fi'er like myself, who'd like to...- WiseOx
