I also would like to know how amps improve the SQ. As I see most people who use amps have iMods or high impedance headphones or IEMs (ER-4S, PK1, etc.). So how would low impedance IEMs benefit from an amp, or is an amp not needed? Also, most agree that the ER-4S sounds better than the ER-4P...
