    Unveiled: Meet the HD 620S

I've recently been using a Momentum 4 out and about and on the train. How would the 620S compare? I'd also be interested in these for monitoring when recording my guitar, in which case how would they compare to an HD300 Pro (which I don't have)?

Thanks. I'm not sure I see the point of that option though, there's not enough bandwidth in Bluetooth for 16/44 let alone anything higher. AptX is already filtering frequencies and reducing the dynamic range to accommodate Bluetooth.

I've just installed it too. It looks like there might be a bit of extra ANC on the slider, after updating it appeared to let me adjust for more ANC. I haven't tested it though. I really appreciate the 5 band EQ with the frequencies shown. I didn't spot "resolution mode", what does that do?

Dog barks and keyboard clicks are of course not low frequency sounds. It is low frequency sounds in particular that passive isolation performs poorly with and ANC is needed for, i.e. rumble of trains, jet noise or traffic. I had an XM3 and don't remember its ANC doing a great job for anything...

Thanks for sharing that piece of information. Fingers crossed for improved ANC.

    Introducing MOMENTUM 4 Wireless

I've never tried the old firmware and ANC seems to be working at least enough for a train journey for me. I never had high expectations of it other than blocking out low frequencies. I can assure you I am not deaf and I'm not sure all the hyperbole is particularly helpful. If the old firmware...

    Introducing MOMENTUM 4 Wireless

Apologies, I misunderstood. Having a firmware update that makes it worse with no way to downgrade must indeed be really frustrating. The latest firmware is the only one I've used. I'm too risk averse to buy any tech gadget on release day :) It seems common in many ANC cans that ANC cannot be...

If you have a defective headset, just send it back. Most consumer headphones, even the Bathys and 1000 dollar ML5909, are made on the cheap in China and also have their fair share of quality control issues. The grass always seems greener. Older models like the Sure Aonic 50 probably do have less...

    Introducing MOMENTUM 4 Wireless

I use my M4 for the train during commutes. The ANC is not as good as my old XM3, but it works to reduce the majority of the low end rumble. The sound quality difference is stark though. There's likely a compromise that has to found between ANC levels and sound quality.

Can you elaborate? People in this very thread are saying it's great. ANC is really designed to attenuate 100-1000Hz, the frequencies of airplane, train and bus rumbling.

Spot on, at least for now. Despite the price, the Bathys don't even offer LDAC, "we ran out of time" was the excuse that I read. Personally I'm not convinced I'd want to spend significant money on extra resolving power to bring out all those SBC/AptX artefacts (I have a Samsung phone).

As I predicted way way back in this thread, just as these phones were released, not providing this feature is leading to many lower scores in the media, for example: https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/sennheiser/momentum-4-wireless Audiophiles are happy to mess with EQ, but consumers...

This sounds like a problem with your lightning to USBC cable, maybe try another brand?

Focal Bathys Hi-Fi Bluetooth & ANC Headphones: Early Impressions

I have an RME DAC that comes with a set of "bit perfect" test files. They are intended for checking software more than hardware, but nevertheless I tested some cheap USB2 cables from Amazon and they passed. Similarly, one could demonstrate no difference between USB2 and 3 for audio. That's the...
