Purpose of Gain Switch on Supreme
Ok...I've had a Supreme for a while now and have been curious about what the purpose of the gain switch is? Is this to power higher impedence headphones? What setting is considered the best for most headphones?- Wilk

Other weaknesses in the system...
regarding the buzzing...is it possible that the cable is either loose on the left side or the cable is damaged. The cable on the ms100s are replaceable but I don't know if you would be able to get a replacement cable now unless current models use the same attachment. I had two pair of the...- Wilk

px100 v old sennheiser
I had a pair of Sennheiser ministar ms100 headphones for 15 years+ until they were accidentally destroyed. These weren't a high-end headphone but they more than did the job and I had really liked them. The PX100 reminds me a lot of these headphones. About the same size and similar look except...- Wilk

iPod and AMP???
I'm a bit of a newbie but I'll give it a shot. It's not how loud the headphones are but how they sound at a comfortable listening level. A good headphone amp along with good headphones and source will provide much more detail (better bass, better highs, etc....) than using the "amp" built...- Wilk

Portable CD Players with Line Out
I have a Sony D-EJ825 which has a line out. It also doubles as an optical output. Sounds good too. But not as good as my old Sony D-11.- Wilk

Help me decide guy's!!! HD 600 or Ety's 4s/6's
Ok...I was tired during my last post and I really didn't do my question justice. I am factoring more in than just the "which sounds better" issue. The Etys appeal to me because I don't mind in-ear style (athough I have never used Etys before) and the isolation appeals to me because I can...- Wilk

Help me decide guy's!!! HD 600 or Ety's 4s/6's
Before reading this site, I would agree that there was no way that an 'earbud' could perform nearly as well or as well as a top notch full size headphone. But the ER4s are so highly rated on this site and at headroom they have to be seriously considered. I have not heard them either, but the...- Wilk

Help me decide guy's!!! HD 600 or Ety's 4s/6's
Azumandus, I have been trying to make the same decision as well. I'm trying to decide between the 580, the ER4s or the ER6. I am purchasing the Headroom supreme in the near future and want a new headphone to go along with them. Purchasing the Er4's would be stretching my budget, but if the...- Wilk

wireless headphones - Senn RS65, RS85, Sony MDR RF975 or another?
I've had the Sennheiser RS60s (RS65 is this years model) for over a year now. I like them very much. Comfortable and good sound for a wireless. I rarely experience interference when listening to them. If you buy a pair, make sure you can return them if they don't work very well in your...- Wilk

Etys ER6 & TAH or ER4P
Thanks joelongwood for the information on the JMT. Very informative. I have messaged JMT and asked him a few questions regarding his amps. I only wish I could solder. I should've spent a bit more time soldering in my high school electronics class. That was a long time ago and I haven't...- Wilk

wireless headphone
That interesting about your experience with the RS65s. I don't any noise with my RS60s unless I go into my kitchen (there is one spot in kitchen where I get no sound at all) or get very near the end of their range. Which would be when I'm out in the yard. The RS60s do have a manual tuning...- Wilk

wireless headphone
I can't tell you what the best wireless set is, but I do have the Sennheiser RS-60 wireless set. I think the sound is great on them. I only get interference when I am in the kitchen around lots of metal. When I bought mine over a year ago the Senn RS-60 and RS-80 were about the best going...- Wilk
