The Little Dot Mk IV / SE Impressions Thread

Thanks for the input!    I'm gonna spend this evening trying out x5 and x10 and see which I like best!

The Little Dot Mk IV / SE Impressions Thread

I hope I will like it too of course! For starters, it's definitely nice to look at!    If my Beyers would be 600 Ohms I would surely put the gain on x10 straight away. But does the 250 Ohm version also count as high?

The Little Dot Mk IV / SE Impressions Thread

Quick question!   I own a pair of Beyerdynamic DT-990 250 Ohm, and I just received a Little Dot MK IV SE.   How do I set the gain switches for my 250 Ohm Beyers?   Gain of 10 - High impedance or low sensitivity loads.   Gain of 5 - Medium impedance or medium sensitivity.   Gain of 4 -...

The AKG K550 Impressions and Discussion Thread!

I'm kind of surprised to read so many comments about the K550's having piercing treble. I use them for every genre imaginable and have never experienced any spikiness in their treble. But that just shows how different our ears and personal preferences are. I do experience somewhat spikey treble...

The AKG K550 Impressions and Discussion Thread!

Quote:   I don't think they are too bright thought... I still love my DT-990's! I run them with a Musical Fidelity X-Can V3 and it's a great combo! Tubes make the Beyers shine!    But compared to the K550 they are kind of bright. I actually don't find anything in the K550's bright...

The AKG K550 Impressions and Discussion Thread!

After owning the K550 for a month or so I did a comparison with my other (beloved) headphones, the Beyerdynamic DT-990. I have used the Beyers for a couple of years and never really understood why people call them bright, but after having only listened to the AKG's for the last month... I...

Are the ATH-M50s still worth buying?

They work well even without an amp!

Receiving AT AD700s in the mail. need to know something about them before opening.

I own a pair and they don't have much bass response at all to be quite honest, but I don't find anything in their sound to be sharp on the ears in any way. The bass needs some lift to make them really enjoyable however.

    BeyerDynamic DT990 Questions

Personally I could not hear any difference whatsoever between the 250 and 600 ohm versions, so I got the 250 version because the 600 was too difficult for my regular amp. Now I run them with an X-Can V3 and they sound awesome! The 32 ohm version however sounds quite a lot less tight and clean...

    Beyerdynamic DT 990s Treble

I have the premium 250 ohms, and I thought the highs was a little bit (too) much in the beginning but after a while I noticed I never thought about it anymore. The ears adjusted to the sound... and I also believe burn in had something to do with it. They work superbly with tubes. I have an X-Can...

ATH-M50 vs. Beyerdynamic DT 770? The battle of the budget basshead cans.

I own M50's and I do have to agree, I like their sound but they are not that comfortable for prolonged use and they get very warm quickly! Beyers and their velour pads are quite comfortable and keeps cool. Haven't tried the pro variants though... they are said to have more clamping force.

    AKG Q701 for metal?

I listen to a lot of metal, especially thrash, and I have a pair of Beyerdynamic DT-990's. They work well with metal, especially if the production is good. I auditioned K701's together with the Beyers before buying and they do NOT fit metal at all, Metallica did hurt my ears!

To EQ or not to EQ?

I am anti-eq in every case but one. My Audio Technica ATH-AD700's can't really be listened to without it...

    Beyerdynamic dt990 premium help

I would recommend you to get the 250 ohm version. I own the 250 ohm version myself, and it does sound a lot smoother than the 32 ohm version. Currently I use a Musical Fidelity X-Can V3 for my Beyers (and personally I think it's a match made in heaven!), but earlier I listened through the...
