Comparing with DAC2 would be more up to date and closer to the same price point. Yggy is 2.5x the price of DAC1.- wavelet

iPhone 6 plus measurements
http://www.kenrockwell.com/apple/iphone-6-plus.htm#measurements Seems the performance is quite remarkable, basically eleminating any need for a portable DAP. For comparison, Benchmark DAC1 HDR measurements: http://www.kenrockwell.com/audio/benchmark/dac1-hdr.htm#measurements- wavelet

Wireless DAC with small transmitter or lossless bluetooth for laptop?
I ended up picking up Arcam rDAC-kw on ebay with wireless dongle. Sounds great and wireless sounds lossless to me as advertised. No trouble connecting. Dual wm8741 dacs, dCS anti-jitter tech. Original price was $700 i think, now discontinued.- wavelet

Fostex TH900 Impressions & Discussion Thread
I suggest one of these bendable cable tie brands: "Gear Tie" (a bit more rigid) http://www.niteize.com/product/Gear-Tie-3.asp or "Flexi Ties" (padded, soft) http://www.amazon.com/UT-Wire-Reusable-Organize-Yellow-6-Piece/dp/B003P9W0RE- wavelet

Btw just for the record, TI TPA6120A2 is not an opamp chip, it's an actual single chip end-stage amplifier that is intended to be connected directly to headphones (Stereo Hi−Fi Headphone Driver according to TI diagram). The card uses 4 more fairly high end opamps for pre-amplification.- wavelet

Hmm, thanks for the reply. Perhaps i should give it a shot with a stronger amp. I don't understand why it should matter at lower volumes though?- wavelet

ZXR has a specific setting for 600ohm headphones and is using TPA6120 amp rated at 80mW into 600 ohms at 0.00014% THD+N (!!!) and 120db S/N: http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tpa6120a2.pdf Also note SMPTE of 0.000095% (!) So i think its more likely the headphones since the technical...- wavelet

I guess they don't sound horrible but they clearly can't resolve nearly as much detail as the TH900. So for instance I'm listening to M83 Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts, track 2 (Unrecorded) at around 3:00 there's a lot of intricately layered high frequency synth that T1 just doesn't seem...- wavelet
