iFi Audio Asks... What (Product) Should We Make Next?
I was a huge MD fan back in the day and think the format is cool, but I just don't see the supply of new MDs and hardware there to make a meaningful difference. It was a niche product back in its' heyday, I can't even see it returning to that.- Watchdog

iFi Audio Asks... What (Product) Should We Make Next?
Another vote for a DAP, but I would like it to have Android so I can install the streaming app of my choice. If non-Android then at least have apps for Tidal, Apple Music and the other most popular streaming services built in. Ideally I'd like to see a mid-end DAP with a DAC/amp section with...- Watchdog

HiBy Digital M300 Android Digital Audio Player,"The Gen-Z Music Player" - Discussion thread
Thanks, I already turned up the Media volume all the way and it helped a bit, but the output from the 3.5 mm jack is still far greater. fwiw - when I turn the media volume up to 15, it stays there.- Watchdog

HiBy Digital M300 Android Digital Audio Player,"The Gen-Z Music Player" - Discussion thread
I just got my M300 and I have what seems to be an odd problem. When I use the Headphone jack the volume gets plenty loud, but when I use the USB out with a DragonFly Red, the volume doesn't go very loud. I've looked through the menus for a setting that might change that, but I can't figure out...- Watchdog

Shanling UA5 - Portable USB DAC/AMP || 4.4mm Balanced Output || Hybrid Battery Power || Independent Volume Control || 235 USD / Euro
I was considering an iFi Hip-DAC2 - this would seem to be an obvious competitor. This is a whole lot smaller and more portable and I like that hybrid power feature, but the DAC2 is available now and it will be a couple of months at least before the UA5 is available to me. Hmmmm……- Watchdog

Is it legal for Hifiman to refuse their one year warranty?
In agreement with the others. Sounds like you simply don’t like the sound so they’re offering you an exchange for something you may like better and presumably they will give you a credit for the headphones that you return. Doesn’t sound like a warranty issue.- Watchdog

Back after a decade
10-15 years ago I spent a lot of time on this website, but changes in life meant I didn’t come to this site for a good decade. Daughter is now away at university and that frees up some time, meaning I’m listening more and I’m back. I just purchased Senn 660S and the Topping DX7 Pro. Very happy...- Watchdog

Is it legal for Hifiman to refuse their one year warranty?
What is their warranty? Is it just to replace a non-working headphone or is a warranty guaranteeing satisfaction? If the former and your headphones work then it’s probably not covered by the warranty.- Watchdog

Cable for Sennheiser Momentum
I did a search and I'm still somewhat confused. I'm interested in purchasing the Momentum headphones, but would also like the flexibility of using a longer cable than the two 1.5 metre cables the headphone comes with. Reading some other threads it sounds as though the cable for the HD...- Watchdog

It appears I've been published in Stereophile...!
I didn't notice this thread until after I received my monthly Stereophile. I thought it was pretty cool that a letter from yet another Head-Fi member got published so quickly. I searched for this topic and found the discussion sure went off onto a tangent...........- Watchdog

Dynaudio Acoustics BM5A vs Audioengine A5
My experience with the A5 is limited. I heard them in a computer store and I was impressed with the quality, for the price. Very good speaker and if it was all I could afford I think I'd be happy with them. I own the BM6A Mk II, and I really like them. They're a really nice speaker, but as... -
I'm back, help me pick a pair of headphones to go with a DAC1
Hmmm, why do I want to replace the DT990 Pros. Mainly because this website creates addictive behaviour and well, there's ALWAYS something better isn't there? I suppose it's also because I've read about new headphones and I'm curious and the fact that when I attended a meet in Burnaby a few...- Watchdog

I'm back, help me pick a pair of headphones to go with a DAC1
It's been about 3 years since I've regularly posted and frequented this site. The second child really cut down on the amount of time I could spend on the Internet and this site. In any event both kids are at an age where they don't need constant attention and I can finally start listening to...- Watchdog

Cambridge Audio Azur 640H Music Server
Has anyone purchased this product recently? I'm interested in hearing other opinions, particularly those who purchased after the firmware updates which might have solved the problems the Captain had.- Watchdog
