    Light Harmonic Geek Wave

Ouch @Shawnb , ‘luckily’ I went with the base IGG model and the later ‘not so voluntary’ upgrades. At this stage of all of this debacle, I’m not going to complain about the looks or anything - I would just count myself very ‘lucky’ to receive anything for moneys paid and a very frustrating 6...

    Denon D7100?!

^^ Thanks Arie, not much of an audio reviewer, but the AH-D7100 certainly does benefit when using this active cable. The DSP in the Audeze Cipher cable lets one fine tune the sound to your liking. I adjusted the bass down quite a bit and then ramp up the bandwidth from there. Makes for a very...

    Denon D7100?!

now the AH-D7100 sounds right to me, and sooo good. Using the Cipher cable that came with the Audeze Sine - plugs straight in and with the Audeze dsp app I EQ’d it to my liking. Was thinking of selling them before, but now a new set of HP altogether.

Review by 'Waldman Jordaan' on item 'Harman Kardon GLA-55 2.0-Powered Loudspeaker System (Clear)'

Best desktop speakers for the size - ever! Very detailed and crisp sound, which some may find slightly on the bright side of neutral. Since the bass gain can be adjusted, you should be able to find the right balance for your speaker position and sound signature preference. Bass quality is...

    Philips SHP895 Appreciation Thread

Final update: I recently sold my pair of SHP895 headphones. After 10 years of joy, they are now being enjoyed by the 2nd owner. I sold them after finally pulling the trigger on a set of X2's. The X2 is better, but not by much. I just felt like moving on and no sense keeping the SHP895 anymore...

    Philips SHP895 Appreciation Thread

No more replies? My modded SHP895 is still going strong and using it daily. Bought a set of Sennheiser HD598SE about a month ago and sold it on again. They sound just sooo flat compared to the SHP895, even after running them in for 7 full days. Don't know what I'll do if these pack up. Are the...

    Philips SHP895 Appreciation Thread

After 2 plus years, I have finally taken that promised picture - sorry for the long wait. This is the 'after' picture. Unfortunately I did not take a 'before' picture. As you can see I have removed all of the centre membrane matting. I don't know what it would sound like if one removes it all...

Review by 'Waldman Jordaan' on item 'Philips SHP895'

Hi all, I have always had a pair of headphones of sorts... during high school in the very early eighties, my mom bought me a small stereo radio casette player and since I was at boarding school, you are never alone and good set of cans seemed to be the way to go. So for my next BD, I begged and...

    Philips SHP895 Appreciation Thread

I'll have to open them up again and take a picture and try my best to post it here. It is just the centre circle of about 2cm if I remember correctly - both the centre circle of about 5-6mm in diameter as well as the 6 or so segments around it.
