Project Ember Tube Rolling
Not sure I listen to enough metal bands to qualify as a metalhead, but been really really going deep into Meshuggah. They also came around few months back Nov 23 with In Flames and Whitechapel, which was an awesome show. Just got a used Ember and I'll have to check these tubes out.- vormhat

Beyerdynamic Custom Studio?
The HD630VB had a tiny bit more love than the Custom Studio seeing as that thread has 49 pages as of now. Still not never super popular though, like the Custom Studio. I guess the variable bass feature not many people liked.- vormhat

Beyerdynamic Custom Studio?
Zombie thread ressurection... 🧟♂️ These never gained traction. They're long discontinued right? Still got mine. Don't think I'll let them go. I sold my TH-x00 because really didn't like the pads and you need to mod 3rd party pads to not lose the bass. However, I did acquire a pair of used...- vormhat

Astell&Kern AK T1p Impressions Thread
I wouldn't say I prefer the HD800, I honestly would be happy with just the T1p. It's why I'm self described hoarder and change my daily drivers all the time. I keep the HD800 for it's humongous soundstage and ability to act as a microscope into the sound. For more organic, neutral enjoyment, I...- vormhat

Astell&Kern AK T1p Impressions Thread
Wow, I just looked at my last reply, Oct 2021. Was about year and a half ago, and they are keepers IMHO. Since then, my collection was expanded, changed. I acquired the HD800 and SDR modded it and also owned the HD700 for a few months before reselling it. The other brighter can I got was the...- vormhat

Comment by 'vormhat' on listing 'Beyerdynamic Custom Studio 80Ω'
Underrated headphone. They never did well but I found them to be better the DT770. They are super neutral with less treble spike than the DT770 and adjustable bass.- vormhat

AudioQuest NightHawk Impressions and Discussion Thread
Thank you! I have a bit of experience with the bio drivers. I recently sold the TH-X00 Ebony, they sounded great but the stock pads suck and larger pads tend to suck out the bass they're known for. Also, I got an offer I couldn't refuse not long after the Nighthawks. They're the lesser known...- vormhat

AudioQuest NightHawk Impressions and Discussion Thread
I just got a pair of the original non carbons few months back. With velour HM5 pads, they are really good. Stock pads, the bass shelf is too dominant. I think reviews killed this headphone. Of course it used stock pads for those. I never considered these until I found this thread and how pads...- vormhat

Review by 'vormhat' on item 'Hifiman R7DX JM Edition Mod'
Intro: Where to begin? What we have here is the work of the esteemed John Massaria who first rose to popularity with Kennerton mods which bewitched so many that they named a model after him with his modifications. I personally never heard these but that discussion lead me to take on these...- vormhat
