dunno about him, but i get a low frequency buzz on my zero's headphone output with comcast internet. if i unplug the co-ax from the splitter it goes away. i've tried a new splitter and shielded co-ax...nothin helped

Just recieved. wait was worth it. built in amp kicks the crap out of a META42. i never thought jumping to a DAC would wow me, but wow. I need a bigger HDD for more FLAC music now.

For bass , quality, and a "wow factor". try ath-a900's.

the current state of headphone tech is much like speaker tech. speakers from even the 80's sound great. there's only so much you can do with the moving of air. unlike cpu's which can be shrunk, made faster, better, to the point of infinity. or LCD which can be improved on viewing angle...

META42 = old school DIY amp from years back. META42 Headphone Amplifier i havnt followed the scene so i have no idea what's replaced it.

So i just bit on one of these from ebay. Will it be better to use it as the head-amp, or pre-amp to my current amp which is a META42 driving a pair of DT770's and A900's?

audio technica ATH-A900 or the DT 770/80's mentioned. most of what i listen to is trance/techno and the a900's are perfect for it. Fantastical bass too

On a bright side. My zune has lived in my pocket, unshielded, and at times with keys, and is completely 100% unmarked.

Is everyone forgetting he-aac (aacplus)? i know nothing supports it, but i've done a-b tests with it vs mp3, and it very simply destroys everything else at low bit rate. And at 64kbit, i can not hear any difference at all vs a 192kbit lame cbr mp3

some more followup Zune has an on-the-fly playlist called "quick-list" More a-b'ing between my nano With md-33's. Zune drives them extremely well, best sound i've heard out of them yet. extremely impactful bass, great mids and highs. almost tickles my eardrums in some songs. Nano...

just presets, but i dont EQ headphones (much) and my car has an 8 band eq so it's less important to me. edit note: the presets actually sound decent and dont distort sound like an ipod's.
