    PC Noise (Fans, etc.)

Nice job and a good price! I assumed most of the head-fi'ers already did PC silencing since it is a necessity for an enjoyable listening room. Here is my current main rig using Nexus 120mm/92mm fans. The CPU is an Intel 3.2 cooled by a Thermalright XP90. The hard drives (SATA 500 Gigs total) are...

    Pccket PC for Music

    >>1: Make sure the PPC has some type of hold button, or a multiple key combo to take it out of hold to prevent accidental shut down or skip. This is a software feature, not unique to a certain PPC. The player I use also lets you reconfigure the hardware buttons so I can easily play/pause...

    Pccket PC for Music

I use an iPAQ 4155 and I also deem the sound quality "pretty damn good" for what it is. It has a fair bit of background noise when you use very sensitive phones (Westone UM2) but it still sounds good. That's my main portable setup; either the Westones or PX-100 with 4155 and it is certainly...

    I've narrowed down: DT-880, DT-990, DT-831, AKG240DF

Making your computer quiet is not that tough... and would open up your possibilities quite a bit. I have a Prescott Pentium that overclocks to 3.7G and it is nearly silent. A good power supply and a few Nexus fans is all you really need to do it.

Pick your brain-feed some ?'s on Sensa 2x and Shure E5S experience

I cannot offer any meaningful comparisons between canalphones as the Westone UM-2s were my first major headphone/in-ear purchase, but they are fantastic. I wouldn't look past them as a possibility when shopping in this price range. They are the first phones I've owned that come close to giving...
