TANCHJIM Stargate II
The first thing i noticed when plugging in this Dongle was, there is no volume control. It always runs at 100% volume which means, you have to lower the input signal to it and you're limited to the volume control of your device. In my case, an Android Smartphone, its a 15 step volume control with the lowest volume still being way to loud. On the PC i have an 100 step volume control which helps, but the lowest volume still can be too loud (its pretty low though). So with sensitive IEM, this Dongle is absolutely no recommendation. When unpacking, there was a very positive surprise, the design. They look very nice and they look much more expensive than they are. Not sure how they manage to make them for that price, but its very nice. The first disappointment, 2-pin... but common, what do you expect for that price? Taking that into consideration, it would be naive to expect MMCX or T2. Other than being 2-pin the cable is actually very nice and comfortable. I am very satisfied with the cable. After reading a lot about the KE4 and its insane price/performance value, i had to test it, and so i did. Especially that it is supposed to sound very balanced got me interested as i am a big fan of Neutral/Balanced/Flat. I like it when everything is in harmony and nothing stands out too much. I want to be as close to the original recording as possible. My reference is the Neumann KH 120 II Studio Reference Monitor Speaker. Shure SE846 Sound Isolating™ Earphone
This IEM was on my radar for a very long time but two things kept me from buying it. Its Age and the Reviews that it can no longer compete with modern IEM. Luckily i can report that the first is no issue and the second just not true. The SE846 is now 12 year old, it got a refresh 2 years ago where Shure added a new Filter called "Extended" which should extend the treble. The biggest and basically only complain from the users. Moondrop Dawn Pro
There is not much to say about this DAC/Amp. It is perfectly flat. The outputs are insanely clean. I can hear no noise, no matter what i plug into it. The shipped USB Cable looks cool, but you can use any other too. The only thing i would wish for would be an Hardware Switch between Low-, HighGain, but you can't have everything. Switching in the app works fine though. There is not much more to say. You plug it into an device that is supposed to play Music and... it plays music. //Update: The price in Germany dropped to 699 which is the same as the M11 Plus ESS, hence i do recommend it over the M11 Plus ESS, obviously and upgraded to 5 Stars. If you do not own an M11 Plus ESS already, the M23 is the better device. I owned the M11 Plus LTD, the M11 Plus ESS and, of course, i had to test the new M23. MOONDROP X Crinacle Blessing2:Dusk
First of all, why did i buy the Moondrop Blesing 2 Dusk? Because it was hyped and i looked at the graph. I've seen that is its frequency response is very close to other IEMs i love like the IER-Z1R (compare the graphs of those two, very similar. Not the same, but very close).
