CERN: Big-bang experiment, 10 Sept 2008
It's fascinating that we're about to recreate the Big Bang yet we still don't have a cure for AIDS or cancer. This could get entertaining though. You don't get to see a black hole eating up our planet every day.- Vali

Best looking movies
Nobody mentioned 300. The movie has little substance (blame it on the comic book) but the photography is outstanding.- Vali

Asking a manufacturer to produce High-end cans. Would you pay for advanced? How much?
I wouldn't pay a company anything in advance on a promise. The manufacturer can't guarantee that the product will rise to expectations, without even a prototype. Here's something I've been thinking about for a while. How about some of the more knowledgeable members of this community team up...- Vali

HD555 cable
Changing the cable should be fairly easy. A complete recabling may take some undocumented handy-work though, if you want to do it yourself. -
Cinematic Orchestra
I enjoy the Cinematic Orchestra too and listen to a lot of nu-jazz but didn't find any similar artists. The "Assassination of Jesse James ..." soundtrack from Nick Cave & Warren Ellis has similar mood and feel, although it's more country/classical. You might like it. -
The leather on my Edition 9s bothers me.. non-animal solutions?
I have no useful suggestion unfortunately, but leather on products bothers me too. Especially nowadays, when there are alternatives. I consistently avoid buying stuff that utilizes leather. It's the 21st century and we're still riding around in cars made of animal skin and trees. Not that...- Vali

I can't believe I'm coming back to my blog with "pretzel v churro"
The signs use the same font (although the churros one is scaled unevenly). So I'd guess it's the same seller. Anyway, hilarious, given the history of this on Head-Fi.- Vali

Logitech buys Ultimate Ears for $34 million cash
I haven't been interested in UE's stuff so far because I've always been using full sized phones, so I know little about how well they're built. But Logitech's name behind them can only be a seal of quality for their future products, at least as far as the build is concerned. I've had A LOT of...- Vali

Headroom amps: too pricey?
I asked something similar a while ago (about headphone amps in general) then wished I didn't. Beware. Apparently the other motto over at HeadRoom is "Too much? Don't buy it." Not to take it out of context, you'll find Mr. Hertsens' original post on this page. This was about the $499 desktop...- Vali

Help me discover creative electronic music
I also remembered Orbital and Chemical Brothers. These are better known and closer to the roots of electronica, yet still innovative. But I haven't listened to them in a while and don't know what they're putting out these days. Aphex Twin and FSOL, mentioned before, are great. Quote... -
Help me discover creative electronic music
If you haven't already, try Amon Tobin. It's probably exactly what you're looking for. You might also want to look into nu-jazz. Briskey is great.
