HTC Windows Phone 8X "Experience audio entertainment exclusively with built-in Beats Audio technology"

Hey guys just want to stop by and say that theverge review for the htc 8x mentions that the beats eq can be turned off. However, I think we haven't really talked about the major audio functionality of the 8x which is the better headphone amp. The htc 8x also gives more voltage to the headphone...

Htc "windows phone 8x" with "more powerful amp.

Well I believe the Iphone 4/4s have around 1.7 volts routed to the headphone jack. The 2.5 in the htc 8x is a substantial increase. The beats marketing is just a gimmick but the actual hardware addition might be hugely beneficial.

Gonna bump this as well considering the htc 8x is now out.    If anyone has the phone please let us know if the extra 2.5 v to the headphone amp truly helps in driving headphones. Thanks so much!

"Mad Dog" by MrSpeakers, modified Fostex T50RP review

Hey All,   Really interested in picking up the mad dogs. Is there anyone running them through a c421? I primarily use my headphones on the go, and would love to know if a phone>c421>mad dog set up is respectable and gives the power the mad dogs deserve. Any advice/help would be appreciated...

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum

Quote: Hey man   Thanks for the advice! Sadly, I forgot to mention in my previous post that I'm not too keen on IEMs. I find the experience too isolating and would rather want on/over ears. Any recommendations then?  1. 400$, balanced, replaceable cords (extra plus), Strong treble...

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum

Hey All,   Looking for a new set of cans along with amplifier if need be. I can spend up to 400 dollars total.    1. I listen to mostly pop music and classical trumpet music (usually in flac). I enjoy trebly songs to come through clearly. Not much of a bass head but like some sort of...

Do Brainwavz HM5 and Fischer FA-003 use the same drivers?

Quote: I spent around 30 dollars for all the mods, so in total with the phones right around 100. I know for a fact it beats the ath m50 and phiaton ms400 since I have direct access to those for comparing but I would assume the HM5 does the same. Looking forward to your comparision Hans...

Do Brainwavz HM5 and Fischer FA-003 use the same drivers?

Ahhh, I just bought a headphone and now this comes along! Thanks haha.   This headphone seems almost too good to be true. Great neutral sound, isolating, durable, lightweight, detachable cables (with portable cable), decent looks, easily driven, AND a Low price. What in the world.  ...

    Ideal headphones

Lol my ideal headphone would have exactly the same things you mentioned including the ability to be used as a portable and I think the Brainwavz HM5 might fit the bill.

    Headphone Sightings 2

I saw 3 colorware beats today. Makes me sad.    Also one of my friends commented on my modded t50rps saying they look like they came out of a trashcan (he owns beats solos) and refused to listen to them. I was seriously getting infuriated lol.

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

Hey all,   Been following this thread for awhile now. Awesome work everyone! I love me some head fi community. this modding business is eating away my time. Quick question. I've been recently getting a lot of random crackling in my headphones (when there is silence). Is this just due to a...

    accurate under $100

I'm going to echo Malveux and recommend the FA-003 rebrand which is the Brainwavz HM5. They are on a presale right now for 119 and will ship I believe in a week or two. They are super neutral and seem right up your alley. I'm thinking of getting a pair myself. Gotta get some cash first though lol

Looking for a good pair of headphones with good mid-range

Hey!   I would recommend the dt 770 pro 80 ohm version. It has great bass response, super comfortable, and provides good isolation. Also, eventhough bass is its strong point the rest of the frequency isn't colored because of this. Nice mids and highs.   Also, the Phiaton MS 400 might be...

    Bassy headphones lower than 100$

Now I haven't heard the XB series but I'm going to recommend the Kicker HP541. The thing is a bass monster and plays well with all types of music. I love it for dubstep and electronica. I think you would be happy with it. You can slap on velour pads on them for extra comfort too.
