With you on this one - and its all happened so fast! I've only just replaced the internal TXCO's and am enjoying the changes there - but woah - step away for a second and the place has blown up with new ideas and upgrades!- ungawa

I'm in the same boat - I have the older R7 (previous R2R7) with Opt IN3 and HDMI/I2S IN4 running from the U16 (bloody marvelous) - Any possibility the new Firmware will work correctly? Certainly keen to try it out ....- ungawa

Sigh - just as I rewire the inputs to cross patch IN4 >> IN5 Kingwa solves it for us. If the new fw is an improvement I might have to back up and revert! Are you not running tda sw Scott? I’ve started listening to the DA7v2 boards with the tda combo you posted - its such a great configuration...- ungawa

hi David - yes - the glue is solid and broke away without damaging the board or cables. So - can confirm keeping the 2 power cables connected to the original cable block from the HDMI board did the trick. Data cables removed from the HDMI board - replaced with the RJ45 cables to its original...- ungawa

Wow - David - you and I both in the same week! I haven’t posted my situation to the forum because I wondered if I had an older unit and it was old news to everyone - but it’s exactly the same as your scenario. So - keeping it simple - I’ll paste the reply I got from Kingwa - with a caveat that...- ungawa

Well done!! I’ve just completed the V2 upgrade in my R7 - I found it a little stressful with so little slack in the wires. I didn’t label them but found I kept checking and checking to make sure they were in the right order, not a great idea with the cabling being quite stiff (more stress). But...- ungawa

Finally ..... a USB blaster finally arrived that actually works. I finally have an R7 (a front panel modded R2R7). Of course, having done the hardware mod, the unit (and I) had to wait until the Blaster turned up to complete the upgrade. So it has been a month or more. I've immediately started...- ungawa

Worth getting a reputable one - The first one I ordered the vendor sent the wrong thing, plus 1 failure so far (PC crashes on connection) - it’s literally stopped me in my tracks.- ungawa

Scott (@DACLadder) - you are a keeper sir - your contributions to the thread are constant and enlightening - and you freely pass on advice to me about my chaotic progress in getting through the updates - without judgement. Thanks cobba.- ungawa

It's always great to read posts in this thread. Jan - I'm like you in that I seem to have happened on a rig that sounds fantastic and keeps making me wonder how things can sound better! I have an ”original” R2R7 (no updates) that I am feeding with an Allo USBridge from a Mac mini using Roon -...- ungawa

Awesome thoughts thankyou - I doubt I'll be waiting long before ordering the U16, though I think I'll stick to the Mac Mini for now - that said, I can see the advantages of the usbridge and lps'. So much exploration to do!- ungawa

Thanks so much for the PM offer - I will def take you up on this as I am very curious about Euphony. Roon is the first music library app I've literally turned away from Audirvana to embrace - and I can't find much fault with it so far.- ungawa

Guys - it’s a wonderful time we live in. Here was I looking at my system as pretty much endgame : my Mac mini plays into the R2R7 which connects via acss to my m8 into my beloved cans. Job done. Sounds amazing too. Then just as I thought (and told my wife) that I can stop, I’m suddenly...- ungawa

Hi folks - I’ve been running my r2r-7 for about a month now - I have it hooked up to my Master-8 HP amp from a Sony X7ESD CD player, and Audirvana iTunes library. I am very happy - it’s kind of end game for me... for now :) I have a simple question - I can’t stop feeling I need to keep the...- ungawa

Three New Amps on Preorder from Audio-GD (C-2 11th Anniversary Edition, NFB-1AMP, NFB-3AMP)
Hi folks - I have the AGD Master 8 - and very happy with it I am! That said, I have found myself looking over the forums to see if I should be considering anything beyond this ... like the Master 9 ... I'm curious about the NFB-1AMP being based on the M9 - so begs the Q... What would...- ungawa
