    I basically plan to use Fiio X5 as a media player by connecting with OPPO HA1 / HD 800, but when not at home , then use my HD 598 with Fiio X5 both as a media and DAC. will write in more detail once I have had my hands onto X5.

    having played with my knob ( obviously I am referring to HA-1) , there is no issue, but if I may suggest, The Fed, that please go ahead and do buy this device ! However I do get to feel that the unit gets heated up after a non stop usage of 2 hours, well here in Delhi , the ambient temperature...

    In my case I think the burn in period was approx 75 hours ! huge difference as to what i heard on day 1 first hour and what I was able to hear some 70 odd hours later . cheers
