Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide

It's an OTL like the LD MKII but that's where the similarity ends. The LD II+ uses a very specific 4P1S (loctal socket) output tube, so your options for rolling any other tube in the output is non existent. The stock driver tubes are 6CQ6 (EF92) and those can be changed out with any other...

My understanding is that the red tip on those tubes just means that they were retested and are exactly the same as all the others.

Quite pricey but it would be worth it depending on how many sticks you need to change. There is a much cheaper version on Amazon but it would require a heavy duty iron and a fair bit of soldering experience to use effectively...

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread

It's going to be a difficult thing so it doesn't look like crap. I'd pick up a short length of L-2T2S and run two wires off of the L-4E6S covering the Y with cable pants. https://www.performanceaudio.com/en-ca/collections/cable-pants

If there is room in the cup then tinyXLR is my first choice as I like to use one cable with all my headphones.

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread

I used a pair of Rean RT4MP sockets and Rean RT4FC plugs you would have to locate these or an equivalent from a supplier in your country. Others have also used 3.5mm TRS instead of tinyXLR and that is a good choice too as there is not a lot of room for the tinyXLR socket. This video shows a...

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread

I converted my T50RP MKII over 4 pin tinyXLR sockets. I left the headband wire in place so I can run them either as single entry when I'm out and about or use dual entry when I'm at home. The sockets and cable plugs are wired accordingly so you can't just use an Audeze wired cable on them...

@PioneerDoom17 welcome to the club and that sounds like a great setup. Enjoy the fun of tube rolling, it's all part and parcel of owning a tube amp.

It's a hybrid that uses 6DJ8 so hard to say how well it will handle a tube that draws twice the heater current and has less amplification. Would be interesting to see if there is actually any high voltage to the tubes or not.

    The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread

The German Maestro pleathers 41-6015 (pictured) just fit but the bass goes out of control, really boomy not usable. I did not try the GMP 41-6085 velours as they only have one vent hole in the back like the 6015's do. The GMP 41-6049's might work as they are fully vented but I don't have a pair...

Never had a problem with Amazon and repackaged gear, but I never order from their warehouse or purchase from 3rd party sellers. If it's not Prime it doesn't get bought.

This guy has a great tutorial, good if you haven't done it before. He has a desoldering station so it is much easier for him to easily unsolder all 14 points, I just use a manual solder sucker and solder wick. I use a pair of flush cutters to snip the metal frame legs and pry the green pots...
