Are you guys using socket savers for the 6sn7 or 300b tubes ? I rarely take out my 300b tubes so that's probably fine but I do switch the 6sn7's occasionally like maybe 1-2 a week or something. Wondering if I should be using socket savers or not 0_o

That's the thing with tube amps. You are more reviewing the tubes (combo) than the amp itself, unless you actually have another amp to compare with the same set of tubes. Than it's a tube review not an amp review imo

Thanks! I'm really just looking for flexible cables that look nice and have solid feeling interconnects. I love the ones that are kind of made of soft fabric almost and don't have any rigidity to them. I've been using the APOs Flow XLR cables which are actually quite nice feeling but too short...

I got a new audio rack incoming to store this beast and my current XLR cable will no longer reach from dac -> amp, so looking at a new cable. Does RCA vs XLR make a difference as far as interconnects, and are their any decent brands for quality but not outrageously priced cables you guys might...

Why would it not be critical? I actually did feel like one channel was having a higher volume then another and this was visible with the volume meter, so I am already in doubt with their matching. Although I didn't have much time with them to test and verify this obviously before one died on me.

How do you like the pairing of tube amp + NOS for electronic music ( or in general ) ? Do you think it looses some edge and becomes too soft ?

Welp the Mullard Whites are going back in already! But not the reason you think, one of them died already after a few hours ><. Luckily I got them through Langrex so I think they should take care of it, not sure how it works with them on the matching front though. I did get them matched, but...

Yeah will do ! So far they are impressing me, good extension top/bottom, a bit more neutral and less mid forward than the Mullards and seem to have good detail retrieval. This will be a close match I suspect 🔊
