M50 benefits from my E6 amp.  Sounds a lot richer on the treble boost

Anyone saying grados wont benefit from amping / appropriate source is dead wrong.  I have a 500 dollar desktop dac/amp setup that blows my mind with all my headphones including the grados.

I recently acquired a D2K and i gotta say its VERY overhyped on this site, no offense.  Sure the bass is stronger than the M50 and the mids are too recessed, which makes it a boring headphone to listen to.

Is tonal balance really enough to give these headphones outstanding ratings?  Does it really justify the cost?  Pardon me since I'm new I want to appreciate these headphones but I cant :(  How can I appreciate these headphones more?

Just got a lightly used HD600 last week.  Listened to it for only a few minutes and I was completely disappointed.  I consider myself a newbie and the only pair of headphoens I have is the ATH-M50, which is a great headphone when I use it with my Fiio e6 amp.  The HD600 was so boring to my ears...
