Ok guys I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I own the 800s and now own the 8XX. HATED the 8xx tune out of the box. I'm not a huge fan of EQ, but decided to give it a test drive. You can get close to the 800s with EQ but it's still "off". (I was hoping the 8XX would be similar to the 800s in that the mids sound quite good all be it a little harsh but it helps draw out the detail and instrument separation) Your asking yourself why buy the 8xx when you have the 800s....
