Bowers & Wilkins PI7
Just got my midnight blue PI7 S2's....can confirm the following connectivity issue is still present: - Can't connect to Sony NW-WM1A via AptX HD. The player "can't connect" to the headphones in this mode. Have to defer to AptX codec. Same as BW PI7 S1 Furthermore, I cannot get BWs own Music app...- toontoonizer

Bowers & Wilkins PI7
Me too...if anyone has a Sony NW-WM1A and can confirm they have the same issue with the PI7s that would be interesting to know. This morning the headphones just lost the plot completely. There was a solid red light indicating a system crash so did a hard reset (pairing button for 15 seconds) but...- toontoonizer

Bowers & Wilkins PI7
Picked up my pair earlier today and excited to try them out. Sadly, i'm getting the same issue as some others here...the headphones refuse to connect in AptX HD with my Sony NW-WM1A and will only connect via aptx (classic). Funnily enough, my BW PX's connect to the Sony with AptX HD just fine...- toontoonizer

SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A
well, here's an update. I received a replacement NW WM1A following the crackling fiasco. Tried the **** 16 core 4.4 balanced cable in the new unit and lo and behold - i get crackling if i swivel the headphone jack. I get no crackling in the 3.5mm if i swivel the port. i am thinking now maybe...- toontoonizer

SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A
Good to know the movement isn't too unusual but i will return and get a replacement because I'm still within the 28 day window with Amazon - as far as i'm concerned a £1000 DAP shouldn't have any significant issues such as audio crackling or drop outs. The player is now £100 cheaper than when i...- toontoonizer

SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A
So i was wondering if i could get some advice from owners of this wonderful player - i purchased one a couple of weeks ago and have been thoroughly enjoying it. I ordered a pair of FH7s and a **** 16 core 4.4mm balanced cable in addition to the FH5's i planned on using. I've noticed something...- toontoonizer

FiiO F9, F9Pro-Detachable MMCX connector,Hi-Res Audio Certified,2.5mm TRRS/3.5mm audio cable
Eugh, that treble spike is still there. I was hoping they had toned it down a bit. As it currently stands, I can't listen to my F9's without removing the spike through EQ. Oh well, i've cancelled my F9 Pro order - will read around a bit.- toontoonizer

FiiO F9, F9Pro-Detachable MMCX connector,Hi-Res Audio Certified,2.5mm TRRS/3.5mm audio cable
Thought i'd add my thoughts - i bought the F9s moving from BW C5 IIs. I have BW P7s aswell - so not a crazy set up. I've been listening to the F9s plugged into an Astell & Kern AK300 via the included balanced cable so this may be interesting for anyone who has an Ak300. All the music I listen...- toontoonizer

DX200=Affordable High End Audio. Dual ES9028Pro dacs. AMP1, AMP3, AMP5, AMP7 & AMP8 ***Firmware support now up for AMP9***
I see that you have put the 1k spectrum to +7 - as far as I know (and i am no expert), human ears are most sensitive between the 1-4k range and this is also where alot of harsh treble can reside. You would be surprised but above frequencies above 10k are not really wholly audible - because they...- toontoonizer

I understand what you are saying here, but you are assuming that the X5 III needs to process concurrent audio streams. Having bought and used an X5 III i can tell you that there are no other sounds than what is playing from the active app. there are no button press sounds, notification...- toontoonizer

Update #3 - got the battery to discharge completely. It would not turn back on under battery power. So i plugged in the usb cable, let it charge for a few minutes from the wall socket and turned it back on. Still reporting 50% battery charge. I think i will have to return it, looks like a...- toontoonizer

So..update...the battery icon does not change when i plug the player in for charging. Either via computer or wall charger. If i turn it off then plug it into the wall charger, the android charging logo fills the screen. If i turn it on while the charger is plugged in, the android icon shows a...- toontoonizer

Hi James, thanks for the quick reply! I have tried that but it is still at 50%. I have included a picture to show that in the battery history in settings it does not look correct. I can't upload yet so here is a link to a google drive pic: ...- toontoonizer
