It's not that you couldn't, it just seems like more trouble than it's worth to me. The cable is quite long and unless you're getting the 32 ohm you're also going to need an amp. On a plane might not be so bad, but for a trip shorter than 30 minutes or so it wouldn't be worth it for me to have to...

I can't really compare the DT770s to much else as they are by far the best headphones I've ever owned (PX-100s would probably be the second), but they are extremely comfortable. I have no problems wearing them for very long stretches.   I suppose it depends on just what you mean by...

I've got a pair of 250 ohm DT770s, which would you suggest getting first, the E7 or the E9?

I bought a pair of DT 770 250 ohm from Amazon last week and they've got "bass ports" as maverickronin calls them on each cup. They both face the same direction, they point behind you if you're wearing them if that makes sense.

Alright thanks, I'll be using my computer as the source for the most part so I'll be sure to get the E7 first. The rebate isn't really an issue, but if it was still going on then I figured I might as well take advantage of it.

I wouldn't be able to get both the FiiO E7 and E9 together if I went that route, which would you say I should get first? I saw a post on here somewhere about those with the E7 getting a rebate on the E9 if you showed proof of purchase or something like that, does anyone know if that's still valid?

Don't feel bad about being the bearer of bad news, I'm just glad someone responded. It's my brother's old amp from about 15 years ago I'd say and I was just wondering if it was an option at all. At least now I don't have to lug it out of the attic.
