coupling cap too big?
Quote: I removed cap from soundcard, it's left outputs -5.5mV and right 8.5mV DC. Cmoy output has 0.x mV DC offset. My cmoy is 2xAD8610, and ground is TLE2426, AD8610, BUF634 as here: http://tangentsoft.net/elec/bitmaps/vgrounds/gnd-channel.png I'm not sure removing cmoy cap...- tola555

coupling cap too big?
Quote: It's not really that expensive compared to other caps. It's only 5$ each. I calculated (http://tangentsoft.net/audio/input-cap.html chapter "Bass roll-off") that I have acceptable bass with my current ~0.4uF Wima MKP10. I'm more concerned about high frequency and phase...- tola555

coupling cap too big?
I'm considering upgrading input cap on cmoy. I have found some 10uF Vishay Roederstein MKP1839 polypropylenes ( http://www.vishay.com/docs/26022/26022.pdf ). At page 5 it seems 10uF 160Vdc is too much? From that datasheet I understand that smaller cap work better on higher frequencies. What...- tola555

Good Opamp that replace JRC4580? Anyone?
Hello, I just soldered 2x LM4562MA chips to ESI Juli@ but I'm not happy There's less detail, no kick, soundstage is not as good as it was. It's veiled and no detail. And balance does not work any more If I play track with only left or only right channel then it's not mono. If I did...- tola555

which DAC for crossfeed + β22?

which DAC for crossfeed + β22?
hi, there is so many DAC's. Which should I build for β22 amp? Important thing to consider is that I will build 3 board configuration and not balanced. Thats because I will need to use passive crossfeed filter(Meier Audio Corda Cross-1). What dac can do good job with crossfeed? Price should be...- tola555

Cmoy. 2227 with 2134 highs?
I upgraded my soundcard from av710 to ESI juli@ and It's way too harsh. I have used av710->cmoy(2227PA)->HD600 and it was OK. Now with juli@ it's too harsh. Violins and piano is too bad. With 2134 highs are what I need but bass is too bad. Some clarity and still warmth in mid sounds would be...- tola555

CMoy opamp selection - 2132 or 2134?
If you have money I'd get 2134 and 2227PA. With senn hd600 2227PA gives more clarity.- tola555

Anyone using Linux?
hi, I'm using debian (ubuntu is built on top of that). Newer tried usb dac but there are cards that work great. For music look at http://alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/ and search your card. Games tend to use oss, not alsa. So my chaintech av-710 don't work in games (quake, ET) and there are bugs...- tola555
