Dunno - but I still enjoy my L3000's. The Stax-es might go up for sale, as well as the HD800, GS1000 and the K1000 (and maybe even a R10), but not those.

When they hit the market, the demo's were done with a Lehman Black Cube Linear. I still have one for the HD800, although I also use the SPL Phonitor.

About the comfort of the headband on a bald head: since I have something like 3 hairs on top of my head I can answer that one...  The comfort is good. Much better than the 70x series. Just don't move around to much. This headphone will slide!

Good review. Personally I do not like the Black Pearl - but I do like the Sonic Pearl. And yes, at times the combination of the HD800 and the SPL monitor can be so precise that it seems to be ... well not comfortable. Sometimes I compare it to a photograph that is sharp from close-up to horizon...
