I've managed to find a solution to this! searched around and saw it on some chinese forum where the Shanling Rep told to turn off sleep and the display timer ...then go to settings and restore to factory settings.   It worked! :D The DAP won't pause itself every now and then.

Thank you! @nmatheis , i will try to reflash the new FW 2.0 and see if that happens again.   Update #1 i've flashed FW 2.0 and doesn't have the file not supported now...but the player does stop playing ...like it paused every 10 minutes or so. then i have to resume it... do i have to format...

Does anyone experience this bug where Shanling M5 will stop playing the music after about two songs...and says file format not supported...but works fine after a restart?

I bought this from MassDrop, i will be contacting them soon and hoping for the best. i will update the situation when i get a proper reply.   *Update* Massdrop will be sending me a replacement unit from their inventory and i just have to ship back the defective unit! Hooray!

:P i wish mine is as flawless as yours....because this DAP isn't that cheap to being with.          As you can see the bottom right side of the display is exposing the inside metal component. either the display is a bit smaller than it should or the frame work is cut a bit too wide...
