YKYAAW Your friend says your iPod must be broken, because it says that I have 500 songs, and those 500 songs take up 9.7 gigs, and he has 500 songs and they take up only 2 gigs...

    Sennheiser HD518 HD558 HD598 HD559 HD589 HD579 HD599 Support Thread

Listened to my 558s today, and my initial thoughts are very positive, coming from the vmoda lps, I was concerned if the bass on the 558s wouldn't be enough as far as quantity is concerned, and honestly the bass is perfect to my ears, I guess I'm not a basshead anymore...

My 558s just arrived today, but there was no 1/4 to 1/8 adapter. Grrrr, I have absolutely no way to listen to them. Ordered an adapter with prime so I'll have to wait til Friday. :/

    Sennheiser HD518 HD558 HD598 HD559 HD589 HD579 HD599 Support Thread

I've been eyeing the 558s on Amazon for a while now, waiting for them to dip below 100$, as that is the most i can spend on headphones. I own a vmoda cross fade lp currently, and while I really like them, there is just too much bass, and I've been trying to find the best headphones under 100$...

I'm considering buying the 558, and I was wondering if they were sibilant at all? I can't stand harsh treble, particularly when the singer makes a 't' or 's' sound.

Well the pianos used in recordings for the most part are insanely expensive ones, and the one in a restaurant might not be so nice

I bought mine used, so they probably were burnt in. I haven't noticed any major differences in sound quality since I got them. They have been reported to have a long burn in process. I had to buy the xl pads, they turn them from the most uncomfortable headphone I've used to the most comfortable.

I have had mine for a year, and I assure you the loose wire is nothing to worry about. You can EQ them, that brings out the treble (I prefer recessed miss, so that's why I love them)

Good over-ears for electronic ~$300 or less

Vmoda provides xl ear pads on their website that makes the comfort change dramatically for the better.

Good over-ears for electronic ~$300 or less

I do not, I own it's little brother the vmoda lp, which is like 100$, and the lp is really good for electronic music, so the m100 should be even better.

Burn in is mostly placebo imo, I think most of what people call driver burn in is really the brain not being used to a new sound signature.
