Yeah, the switch bat should point to the input you're trying to use.... so push it left for balanced input and push it right for SE.... the other balanced connectors are either a loop out or preamp out... the female XLR jacks are the input.- thrice

Yes, I have not built a Beta 22 that converts balanced to Single-ended. If it's the amp I'm thinking of, you can use it Single-ended with a single-end source and balanced with a balanced source.- thrice

b22 hookup wire
I use silver coated copper stranded Belden from Mouser. Nothing bad has happened yet (at least not because of the wire). Three 100' rolls will run you ~$100 but it will last a good long time for all your projects.- thrice
