Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
Guys, thank you all for your posts. Rather than reply to each one, let me just say that a few hours ago I changed from going through an UltraRendu on the network to going directly into the M Scaler's USB port from my NUC which usually acts as the Roon server .... i.e. straight out of the...- threeweeksatf8

Yep -- Red light on M Scaler OP button results in DAVE instantly displaying 44.1/48Khz input with matching Red colour background. Cycling through OP button results in instant changes between sample rates displayed on DAVE, just as expected. TAD Micro Evolution One speakers, and Amps are...- threeweeksatf8

Yes indeed, and it was largely due to such posts that I decided to order an M Scaler .. I was considering going for a Blu2 based solely on posts on here and a couple of reviews. No demoing. I do believe (still) that it has benefit, I am just wondering why _I_ am not experiencing it. I assume...- threeweeksatf8

Guys help me out here .. God help me, but I've decided I can't detect the slightest difference between the full scaled output and the 44.1 kHz bypass on the M Scaler. I have been A/B'ing for about 48 hours now (time off work) and although it was hard to admit it, I can't lie to myself. My...- threeweeksatf8

Thanks, I certainly hope so. :) Burn out is real! Also I guess there's only so many times listening to the same songs over and over again is going to "do it" for me ... I mean listening in a demo sense, trying to listening for variation when changing my setup. It is sad that those...- threeweeksatf8

The input light goes purple but only because that's the "auto" input select. (Right?)- threeweeksatf8

Nope: it _does_ seem to be taking the full 16x upscaled signal ... I think I just wasn't understanding the way it locks on to the dual BNC signal. If you select one of the BNC inputs on the DAVE and it happens to be the "2nd" BNC line, and you select anything other than the full upscaling out...- threeweeksatf8

Just a quick update: for reasons too long to discuss at the moment but which I can elaborate on later, I am led to believe that perhaps my DAVE is only receiving / processing one of the BNC signals even though it _initially_ displays "D Bnc" Sigh .. definitely something weird going on. Just...- threeweeksatf8

*Long post warning / head-fi stranger warning* I've had my M Scaler hooked up for a couple of days now. Initial impressions were that everything sounded "tighter" and a little sharper (in a good way). A little more open, little more natural, slightly more engaging. Strangely not as big a...- threeweeksatf8

Hi folks. I am told I have the first Hugo M Scaler sold in Australia coming my way next week. It will be paired with a DAVE which I have had for around two years. I am quite excited! The rest of my system has changed drastically over those last two years but the DAVE has always been the...- threeweeksatf8

Life after Yggdrasil?
I'm thinking British. With three letters. Certainly not R2R although I have been drooling over Rockna for months now. I would have loved to have seen a Rockna DAC reviewed here. Fantastic thread -- thanks Torq .. I've been chewing on this thread since it's inception. I couldn't resist posting...- threeweeksatf8
