The difference is the V3 the sound is just closer to you which makes it seem not as wide/large but the actual width/size is pretty similar. At least that was my impression between the two.

Depends what you're looking for. V2 has a wider soundstage (although not by much), the sound is further away, has a more bright treble that does emphasize sibilance a bit, more subdued bass, mids not as prominent. I think these sound great for well mastered tracks that utilize the soundstage...

Outside of the bass, the biggest difference to me in the V3 versus the V2 is the timbre of the treble. Cymbals and violins sound so much more natural to me on the V3, the V2 sound tinny/plasticy in comparison. The detail remains the same between the two as well.
