The reason why I picked the Ear Force DSS 7.1 Channel Dolby Surround Sound Processor is the optical in because my tv does not have a headphone jack.

Is the Ear Force DSS 7.1 Channel Dolby Surround Sound Processor a dedicated headphone amp?  Is it even any good for what I want to do with it?
