Niimbus Ultimate Series US4/US4+/US5/US5 Pro Headphone Amps - by Lake People

So realistically (in other words, you’re saying, you’ll never buy a niimbus. And that’s ok

Niimbus Ultimate Series US4/US4+/US5/US5 Pro Headphone Amps - by Lake People

Ps when i bought the may i had no intention to sell the metrum hex. As i don’t have a second system, ie a second room i ended up selling the hex simply because i was no longer using it all because i so much preferred the holo may. It was not sold out of necessity. For the price i sold it for...

Niimbus Ultimate Series US4/US4+/US5/US5 Pro Headphone Amps - by Lake People

Went from the metrum hex to the holo may kte. The hex was the dac below the pavane. Different musical presentation from the two. Hex was definitely more “analogue” in nature. Softer, rounder. I really enjoyed it, particularly with my woo wa2 amp I thought the hex had good separation until i...

    Hifiman HE1000 Planar Dynamic Headphone

I’ve never heard the stealth but have owned the v2 and se and imho at these prices they are hard to beat for value (if they suit one’s tastes of course)

    Hifiman HE1000 Planar Dynamic Headphone

Maybe because in order of release it went He1000 He1000v2 He1000se (se = special edition) He1000 stealth. What i saw was the stealth initially was titled on the hifiman website (and packaging i think) as the he1000v2 stealth and then later as the he1000 stealth. The he1000se came out as a...

Niimbus Ultimate Series US4/US4+/US5/US5 Pro Headphone Amps - by Lake People

I don’t find the Niimbus limiting re what genres of music it suits. That will come down to your set up and the components’ synergy. I find my headphone choice changes based on my mood and what i want to hear. I have the susvaras and utopias (and hd800) and they work well for me as a...

I never studied latin as such but in my younger days particularly, as I don’t practice it as much nowadays, i was a bit of a cunning linguist

Niimbus Ultimate Series US4/US4+/US5/US5 Pro Headphone Amps - by Lake People

All good. My tip would be find a second hand one from a good seller, i’m guessing for about $2.5k and it will be money well spent for the susvaras But that doesn’t really account for personal taste so i can’t guarantee that either but if you sell it you won’t loae much. I bought mine...

Absolutely. Problem is he came back to say he preferred the silver fox amp a bit more after that was released. I’m very happy with the niimbus though and second hand prices of the few niimbuses out there are great prices for buyers rather than sellers thanks to the lack of hype on it

It definitely has juice, but what are the deepest lows? Don’t forget the dac and the streamer will also need to help and measure up in this regard. ie the whole chain needs to be considered for the susvara

Niimbus Ultimate Series US4/US4+/US5/US5 Pro Headphone Amps - by Lake People

From my first impressions, coming off a v280 and auralic taurus at the time….. There is great texture right across the board (spectrum wise). This adds a bit of weight to the sound. Black background. Increases the spotlight(s) to various parts of the stage so brings out more details because of...
