Verum Audio - Exciting high performance DIY planar

The Auteur pads are angled, but only slightly. I don't find that they make the headphones feel any heavier with them. And I have the lambskin pads.

Verum Audio - Exciting high performance DIY planar

I had the same problem with the stock pads. I'm currently using ZMF Auteur pads, which have a nice big opening. I don't notice any significant change in the sound either.

Verum Audio - Exciting high performance DIY planar

I have run them off of my phone (LG V30), and the Audio-GD NFB-1AMP, which has an output impedence of 1 ohm I believe. Both have worked great with no distortion.

Verum Audio - Exciting high performance DIY planar

I have really large ears, and the stock pads were just two small. Currently rocking ZMF Auteur Lamskin pads, and loving them. They sound really similar to the stock pads, to my ears at least. And they have a lot more room.

Verum Audio - Exciting high performance DIY planar

I just got mine yesterday! About 9 days after I got the tracking#. Didn't get a ton of time to play with them, but they sound so good!

    Audio-gd NFB-28

Ok, I'm sorry if this has been addressed previously, but I coudn't find it. I am having an issue when I use the USB input. When I'm listening to music off of my computer via USB, sometimes the volume control gets weird. I'll turn it up several clicks, and sometimes the volume dosen't go up at...

    Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP

I tired the Cascadia Audio Impact pads with them. They brought the sound stage in a bit. The high mids seemed a bit clearer, and the low mids were more elevated. I can't really decide if like it or not yet, but I'll keep trying things and we'll see what happens.

ZMF Classic MK3 - discussion and impressions

I've been using the Fiio A3 with my V30 for a portable setup. It works pretty well, but not as good as my desk amp, these things are pretty power hungry.

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

I use this stuff, and it works really well: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UI47HPE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I put tape around the 4 sides, and along all the cross pieces. Maybe overkill, but it worked.

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

Yeah, I don't think the stock M1060's are bad at all, I found them quite good actually. I just think with a little modding (some of which is really easy), they can become pretty spectacular.

Got it, I'll give it a try and see how it goes. Thanks! Seriously, thanks for all your work on these. I really appreciate people like you in the community, who put a ton of time into this stuff that the rest of us can benefit from. You rock!

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

@PockyG , I'm currently using your V4.1 fazor on the pad side, but I just printed the RF1060 Mk3 and want to give it a try. One question: since the sides of the fazor are open, it seems like there would be a lot of sound leakage underneath the pad rig. Did you do anything to seal that?

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions

I haven' tried them on the PM-3's, but I'm personally not a big fan of Brainwavz velour. I find it gets hot. Plus it would probably lower the bass a little bit, which isn't something I would want. Can't speak from actual experience with the PM-3's though, sorry

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions

Yeah, I would give the edge in soundstage to the angled. Not a huge difference to my ears, but the angled were slightly better. If the stock pads are an ok size for your ears, then you should be more than fine with the angled. I found the non-angled to be more confortable, so the trade off...
