So I bought myself the Somic MH489 because I stumbled upon it on this site... I liked the idea of the Sony XB500 but don 't like the Sony sound, so I took a dive with this one. You mainly find this one on Ali express for prices between $70 and $200 (no joke !) but I found one for $57 shipped to Belgium. What the heck, I just did it.   It arrived after close to one month and it was packed in plastic (every package I get from China is packed in plastic), took the plastic off and the box was covered with cardboard. But the box that held the Somic...
  2. Superlux HD 681

I'm member on a forum for bassguitar players and since a few years the Superlux HD681 are the most spoken of headphones on there. Because of the price vs basic sound quality. After I bought the DT770 pro it seemed funny ordering this one on top, for comparisment and good for recording too. Because I really dislike the one with the red rings I bought the one with silver rings, not realizing that it has a different sound. But it looked cooler, that's a lot to be said here... Let's roll !   Build quality: Okay, so what does one expect from €19,95...
  3. AKG K 271 Studio

This AKG came into my possesion "accidently". During a rondom internet search I came across this headphone, that were to be sold for €75. I did an offer of €60 and the guy accepted. I went to his place and took it home were I did an immidiate comperisement with my Beyerdynamic DT770 pro in the same pricerange. This one gave the DT770 a run for his money !   Comfort: The AKG is second hand, I think it's originally sold around 2004 somewhere. By sitting in the box for years (according to the seller), the earpads were out of shape, so I 've put new...

It was 1994 and I was in the middle of recording my first demo with the band. The studio we where at had this supurb Sony MDR750 headphones that I fell in love with ! Great sound, really crisp highs. I came home and told my wife "gotta have that one !" So she went out and was planning to buy me one as a surprise... and came home with the MDR CD570 cause the sales guy made her believe it was the follow-up on the MDR750, yeah right Anyway, after I've had this "I didn't even wanted this one" discussion with my wife I listened to it and discovered it...
  5. Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro-80 Closed Studio Headphones

So I bought this BD DT770 pro because I am in the middle of mixing the tracks we've recorded with my metalband. Because I am a truckdriver, I spend a lot of time in my truck, dragging along my laptop whereon I do the mixing. I definitly needed a good headphone for studio use. By doing some homework I decided that The DT770 pro was the one I couldn't go wrong with, so I ordered it.   Before these headphones I owned a Pioneer SE650 and a Sony MDR CD570. The Sony is decent but a bit too strong in the treble departement and has good subbass but not...
