Yep. You have to be careful about those nasty microphonics. Braided copper is quiet.

I have really grown to love the DT700 Pro X. Pairing it with the AQ Cobalt is a delight. The sound for me is actually similar to the Meze 109s. Very happy with them. :)

So I bought a 99 Classic open box. Loved it. Was tempted by the 109s. So I returned the 99s and bought the 109s thinking that they would be a big upgrade. They are good. They are a keeper for me indeed. But then, I began to miss the 99s. So I recently picked up a like new Noir for a great price...

A simple copper wound cable is great. It's true that the microphonics are quite disturbing with outside material like the one pictured. In my experience as well, the material often twisted on the cable making me wonder about its durability. Plain, simple metal is better.

Haven't tried it. Looks pretty, but too expensive for my tastes. I have a $25 cable that works great for me.

Greatly improved sound quality with the copper cable. Absolutely great for me.

I've got a fantastic copper cable for the 109, but I can't fit the phones in the case and then be able to close it with the cable connected. So, I take the cables off and attach them again once they're out of the case. I don't think that really makes for a wear and tear issue on the connections...

I have the navy and it suites me fine. Tasteful you know.

No discernible crackling for me. I use the Creative BT W5 on my MBP with the 5909. Great aptX on the Mac.
