MrSpeakers Alpha Dog Revealed! - The World's First Production 3D-Printed Headphones
Hi Dan, What does the wait time look like on Mad Dog upgrades to Alpha Dogs? I sent a pair off to your workshop that you guys received on February 18th (Jack S. from Edison, NJ). I was just curious as we've just passed the 8 weeks mark. Thanks!- TechNerd

Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread
I would also say that the mid-range Ultrasone headphones are totally underrated. The Pro 750 is an outstanding headphone that many feel is more balanced than the 900, but it hardly gets any positive feedback. I've also had the opportunity to purchase the now discontinued Pro 2500 open back...- TechNerd

Replacement earpads for HD580 / HD600 / HD650 from Ebay seller from China?
I've purchased from Thomann UK for Sennheiser HD650 replacement pads, including the headband pads that are difficult to come by. I've found the prices to be competitive and they are fast in shipping, including to the US. Here's a link to...- TechNerd

Yet another HD800 thread...
Sure, anything is possible. But given that Sennheiser individually tests each HD800 and will send you the frequency response results for your set, I don't think they'd let a defective pair go out the door. If you do some searches here on Head-Fi, a lot of people claim the HD800 needs...- TechNerd

I just got my first pair of Audiophile Headphones ATH-M50s I have a few issues I need some opinions/help
Let me answer your second question first - Do you hear the crackle at always the same moment in the song? If you use other headphones, do you still hear the crackle? My hunch is the crackles or distortions may be with the file you're playing vs. the ATH-50s. Due to the clarity of what your now...- TechNerd

Yet another HD800 thread...
Like you, I'm a new HD800 owner. My experience has been pretty opposite to what you've encountered, especially when it comes to your comment that the HD800 had a small sound stage. Literally out of the box, from the first listening, the HD800 has - bar none - the widest and most open sound stage...- TechNerd

Sennheiser HD600 vs Sony MDR-MA900
I would agree with this. I do have both the HD600 and the MA900. They're both great headphones. As mentioned, the HD600 is more balanced, neutral and detailed sounding, with a wider soundstage. The MA900 is much more forward sounding, with great bass and mid-range. The simple choice will...- TechNerd

Forza AudioWorks Impressions Thread
Just wanted to add my 2 cents and extend a Dzienkuje to Matthew at Forza AudioWorks for the excellent cable that just arrived today (Jack from New Jersey). I purchased the FAW Noir HPC for my HiFiMan HE-400. I wasn't happy with the stock cable and initially went with HiFiMan's silver cable...- TechNerd

Sol Republic Master Tracks XC Studio - Tuned by Calvin Harris
I was out shopping this weekend and noticed a new set of Sol Republic Master Tracks over-the-ear headphones available - the Master Tracks XC Studio tuned by Calvin Harris. The promo material on the Sol Republic site along with the video with Calvin Harris indicate the Master Tracks XC was...- TechNerd

Burson Conductor - DAC/amp successor to the HA-160D
I upgraded to OSX 10.9 Mavericks last evening. So far no issues with the Burson drivers. I currently have the Conductor SL1793. In fact, I'm listening to it right now as I type this out!- TechNerd

Most underrated and overrated headphone? For a bit of fun :)
It's not so much that either the 940 or the 1840 has no bass. I have both and they are really reference headphones. The bass is really dependent on the source track. I think what really undercut the credibility of both headphones is that some folks were making wild assertions that they were...- TechNerd

Most underrated and overrated headphone? For a bit of fun :)
Totally agree. The Denon D600 is one of my favorite headphones that doesn't get much love here at head-fi.org. Some other underrated headphones: Ultrasone Pro 750 (everyone loves the Pro 900, yet most agree the Pro 750 has the more balanced sound.) I have the 750 and really enjoy...- TechNerd

WORST headphone you ever heard?
For me, it's gotta be the Sol Republic Master Tracks over-the-ear headphone. An outstandingly comfortable and light pair of headphones had to be the absolutely worst sounding headphones I've heard. Over emphasized bass with virtually no mid-range and treble, to the point that the Master Tracks...- TechNerd

Comment by 'TechNerd' in article 'Describing Sound A Glossary'
I've also seen tizzy used frequently, which I've interpreted to mean slightly distorted treble sounds, as if a cymbal sound produces a "tizz" sound rather than a clear sound.- TechNerd
