You might be right, I've recently purchased an He560 and am having trouble finding a good reason to keep it. It does have some positive factor of being better then my hd600, at the price mark of $900, it's a little steep for my taste.

Can you explain more on the "faster" and "slower" part? What do you mean by that?

I've always heard that the HD800 is amp picky and thus I needed to bump up my amp/dac setup. but who knows, if to my ears, the magni/modi makes no different when compared to the valhalla/bifrost setup then I can always sell back and get $700-800 back

That's also my goal. A good variety of amp/dac with a few headphones that's acclaim for a different type of music. I've heard the hd800 and lcd-2 being the ying and yang and thus covers a wide variety of music genre. And maybe an asgard 2 to match the lcd-2 instead of the valhalla 2 would be...
