HI All,   Just wondering if any tried SLA battery to power the dac board? The Red Wine Audio Black Ligthening uses SLA battery and had good review, so maybe we can make our own SLA battery supply.

Yep I direct wired the d+/d- directly to the board. However you will need to wire the ground and + wire too, as this acts as a switch for the dac to select usb input, otherwise it will default to coax.     Quote:

Hi all?   I was thinking the same with regard to the number of chips. What if u double stack the valab to 16 chips? what would be the likely outcome? also, is there any theory on SQ vs operating temperature of the dac chip?

thanks wood,   tried that before,   i tried removing random chips out and it does not matter which one i have in, i get distortion if i have 16, now 15 :)   btw.. where can i get the chip from? i tried ebay but can;t find it..
