What Are You Listening To Right Now?
One of my favorite Portishead songs. I play this one a lot. -
Do you still by CDs?
Typically, when I buy "near mint" the disk is pristine - no scratches, smudges or nicks, though the case and booklet "might" show signs of use. But most of the times near mint is pretty clean. At least that's my experience when shopping online. Obviously in a store you can inspect the CD for... -
Do you still by CDs?
Regardless of what "your" understanding of "Good" (in the context of used CDs) means to you, "I" don't / or have ever bought used CDs online listed as "Good". The fact that "you're" fine with it, doesn't equate to me being fine with it  Thanks. -
Do you still by CDs?
I shop for used CDs all the time. Gotten some excellent finds at really good prices, especially a lot of my premium audiophile discs. That said, if they're scratched or ratty looking, I'm not touching them. The one thing I don't do is buy scratched or damaged CD, no matter what it is. If I buy... -

Thanks, but you're already in the "Pontus thread" so yeah, many of us have a Pontus :relaxed: But yeah, the Pontus 15th is a great DAC. Definitely loving mine. BTW, if you add a DDC it will sound even better ☺️ I have a lot of respect for the Ares and what you get out of it for the money...- sygnus21

For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?
Don McLean American Pie (1971). The song American Pie is an ode to the day Buddy Holly (a pioneer in rock & roll) died in a plane crash. ▶ PC (JRiver Media Center / FLAC files) > Hermes DDC > Pontus 15th > Artemis HPA > Hifiman HE1000SE Bye-Bye Miss American Pie drove my chevy to the levee...- sygnus21

R2R RIP or Resurrection?
See that's the difference between you and I - I see things one way, you see them another. Fine. But whether you agree or not is irrelevant to how I feel about my gear. I stand by my comments, as I'm sure you do yours. Peace :sunglasses:- sygnus21

Do you still by CDs?
For me it's not about cheap CDs prices, it's about a format I enjoy. A lot of my CD are actually more expensive, not less. Take Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs SACD disks for example. These things are $30 bucks apiece. Or some of my Japanese paper sleeved editions costing $20+ apiece, or my other... -

And here's one set made using the Mogami W2534 Neglex Quad Cable, snake sleeving and silver Neutrik connectors. Cable length is 1.5 feet since I wanted shorter cables for my stacked gear. This Mogami W2534 Neglex Quad wire is impressive with the Neutrik nickel plated connector with silver...- sygnus21

R2R RIP or Resurrection?
I'm glad I don't listen to ASR or put a premium plots and charts (tech specs). Fact is I've never bought gear solely based on tech specs. Currently enjoying my Denafrips Pontus 15th R2R DAC matched with Denafrips Class A Artemis headphone amp, with both a pair of Sennheiser HD800 S and Hifiman...- sygnus21

Do you still by CDs?
We all know full well not everything is on CD. I've had to buy digital downloads myself cause some of the stuff I want isn't on CD so you not saying anything I don't know. Obviously if you can't find something on CD, but it can only be had via the download track that's the path you take. So...
