alright, maybe they arent even the in ear type im talking about ok. i think i got it. earbuds are the one on outside that dont go in ear at all and have no isolation iems are all calalphones with isolation but then what are the sony mdr 71s considered?

i understand that much, but what is like the difference from an iem, and an oem, does oem just not isolate?
