iBasso DX160 - The listening experience only gets better and better. ******NEW FW 1.09 - link 1st page.******
That's very disappointing to say the least, there must be a way to keep WiFi awake while streaming music, now we need to rely on third party apps keeping the DX160 awake by keeping the screen on, which of course drains the battery faster.- SubSTI

iBasso DX160 - The listening experience only gets better and better. ******NEW FW 1.09 - link 1st page.******
iBasso needs to enable the major third party app developers like UAPP, Neutron and Poweramp access to the MQA unfolding part of the kernel, there are now only two options: 1. Mango player, works ok-ish but lacks streaming and UPnP support, not the mention again the missing gapless support 2...- SubSTI

The Tidal app is able to unfold MQA to full (2nd hardware unfold as well) so it can be done for sure, so have to agree with @alota on this.- SubSTI

Tidal MQA streaming doesn't work well for me, even 2 meter from the router, wifi reception is not stable on the DX160, both 2.4 and 5. So you need to download and play offline, but I like discovering new music, which can't be done offline. Apart from that I don't like Tidal's way of suggesting...- SubSTI

Thanks for sharing, it's unfortunate, money spent for nothing :frowning2: Apart from that still quite happy with the DX160, WiFi is causing issues, especially when using Tidal (Master )streaming, but that could be a Tidal issue as well. Annoys me enough to end my Tidal subscription....- SubSTI

True, but unfortunately this isn't possible for the UAPP MQA plug-in, that is an in-app purchase- SubSTI

Technically yes, but the DX160 struggles with WiFi reception, causing network connection errors while streaming. Better download and go offline when playing Master tracks. This is unfortunate when exploring new music, you don't want or can't download everything first.- SubSTI

Exactly, same on mine. So this does mean UAPP is not able to utilize the hardware MQA unfolding capabilities of the DX160, which is a shame.- SubSTI

You are right, even using Tidal in UAPP won't let you download files for offline playback, this can only be done within the Tidal app itself. Correct- SubSTI

Indeed. The Tidal app itself unfolds full. UAPP you can make use of inbuilt Tidal playback support (no offline/download support), but as stated above this doesn't work well for MQA/Master files, at least not in my occasion. Neutron plays SD card stored MQA files well, but no inbuilt Tidal.- SubSTI

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android
I took the plunge and just ordered the UAPP MQA plug-in to test with the DX160. Comparing Tidal tracks, and left aside if I am able to hear the difference: - UAPP doesn't do the 2nd (hardware) unfold to full, same track via Tidal app unfolds to 192kHz, via UAPP it is stuck at 96kHz. - Buffering...- SubSTI

I haven't really decided yet. UI of UAPP is better and Tidal support is built in but MQA 2nd unfold is still unclear. Neutron does the 2nd unfold, is highly configurable, can output to Chromecast Audio but misses Tidal functionality.- SubSTI
