The only way I could get it to resume playing audio was to push the power switch on the BACK of the unit, and turn it back on again. Using the power button on the front did not work for me.

When I had the XDA-2 (even though it only worked a day), I had the same issue as well. It was not resolved by using multiple different cables, different ports, or different computers (I tried it on two desktops and a laptop, with Windows 7 and Windows 8).

Glad you are enjoying it! While you can obviously get better sound quality, it seems unlikely you can do better for the price.

You will be very happy. Zoom - I may be misremembering not receiving a usb cable. I have so many that I might have forgotten it. If it did come with one, it was a cheapie.

I would talk to Damon at Emotiva. Keith is an ass that will make stuff up on the fly - he doesnt really know what he is talking about. Damon is really great to work with, and I think you will get honest answers from him.

The DC-1 had a so-so HP amp. For a $500 option for both a DAC and an amp, it isn't bad. It does not compare however, (in any way) to a better amp. Even in other combos like the Dangerous source, which blows it away in the amp department.

My source did not come with an included USB cable. I started off with a cheapie, then upgraded it to a fully shielded cable. I cannot tell a difference.

For right now I do not have the time to organize something - my schedule is going to be pretty intense over the next year. However, if somebody else is up for it, I would definitely come. Otherwise, I may just go to the Chicago one in the summer.
