    Sennheiser HD 660S2 thread

Thinking about getting a pair, had no idea a new version came out. I loved my HD600's, got sick of the crappy cables always breaking though, bending on my shoulders. These fools test them with some technician sitting upright in an armchair I bet, not lounging around on a bed. I have my HD800's...

Naim Audio Uniti Atom Headphone Edition

I read the Naim wasn't 'truly balanced'. Is this true? It costs £2500 new, it that doesn't get you truly balanced what does.

The XLR on the cable was at fault, although for some reason it did fit easily in the 4.4mm to XLR adaptor. Just learned I apparently need to change the AKG headphone connector to a 4 pin connector to make them balanced. I can listen balanced from the front 4.4 pentaconn I suppose, I think...

Naim Audio Uniti Atom Headphone Edition

Tried, no use, I will damage the socket. The pins look okay, I will wait for my new cable, or buy an XLR connector, Amazon just gave me a week's prime for 99p, see if I can get that in.

I bite my nails, I turned the unit off and tried, not too hard though, nothing popped off.

Naim Audio Uniti Atom Headphone Edition

Thanks, I asked at the Naim forum just to be sure. I only have dual three pin XLR's on my other cables. I have another 4 pin cable arriving soon. I bought a balanced 4.4 Pentaconn to XLR adaptor, just to be on the safe side. I prefer headphone inputs on the front anyway. Don't know if the audio...

I don't fancy sticking a screwdriver in there, I will give it a try later, probably is a plastic cap over the actual input I bet.

Naim Audio Uniti Atom Headphone Edition

Why isn't this going into my unit, the pins go in part way but it's wonky as hell, the amount of force I am using makes me believe these are non standard That balance input, the plastic isn't a cover is it?

    Naim Uniti Atom Headphone Edition

It's starting to sound better, I don't think the unit has changed I think my ears and brain are adjusting to it. I'm still not happy about the 'up front' sound, very two channel stereo. In this the Naim sound? What does Cambridge Audio CXN V2 or Evo sound like - I should listen first before...

https://www.futureshop.co.uk/quantum-science-audio-red-black-high-end-uk-mains-fuse £2K for a fuse, lol. I might pay forty quid for a power cable because it must be better made than the generic kettle lead, plus they are available is nice colours.

    Naim Uniti Atom Headphone Edition

That's too much for me, I might upgrade to a better power lead in the future once I know the Naim sounds great.

    Naim Uniti Atom Headphone Edition

What power lead would you suggest, I just watched a video on Youtube from cheapaudioman - as you can probably tell by his channel he doesn't think the more you pay the better the sound. Anyway he set up an expensive and a cheap generic power lead, and was surprised to find there was a...

    Naim Uniti Atom Headphone Edition

I will leave it on or playing music even when I am not listening - crossing my fingers. My Little Dot amp didn't take too well being in the shed, there was a buzzing on my Naim, I thought nothing else could go wrong, swore a bit then used the power of deduction to realise the Liittle Dot was...

    Naim Uniti Atom Headphone Edition

I bought it pre owned, I had 14 days to return it but I stupidly left it in the box for two months while I finished getting my bedroom sorted out. I need to get a new cable with a balanced output. All these different inputs, male/female, four pin, three pin. never seem to have the right one.
