I read the Naim wasn't 'truly balanced'. Is this true? It costs £2500 new, it that doesn't get you truly balanced what does.

The XLR on the cable was at fault, although for some reason it did fit easily in the 4.4mm to XLR adaptor. Just learned I apparently need to change the AKG headphone connector to a 4 pin connector to make them balanced. I can listen balanced from the front 4.4 pentaconn I suppose, I think...

Tried, no use, I will damage the socket. The pins look okay, I will wait for my new cable, or buy an XLR connector, Amazon just gave me a week's prime for 99p, see if I can get that in.

I bite my nails, I turned the unit off and tried, not too hard though, nothing popped off.

Why isn't this going into my unit, the pins go in part way but it's wonky as hell, the amount of force I am using makes me believe these are non standard That balance input, the plastic isn't a cover is it?

It's starting to sound better, I don't think the unit has changed I think my ears and brain are adjusting to it. I'm still not happy about the 'up front' sound, very two channel stereo. In this the Naim sound? What does Cambridge Audio CXN V2 or Evo sound like - I should listen first before...
