Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
Great, thanks for your feedback. I may well go the same route myself, albeit with a lower spec, because I would be building mine purely as a headless Roon server. Plex server can stay on the NAS.- Stu79

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
@Amberlamps Have you set up your NUC as the Roon core, or just as an endpoint? I currently run my core inside a docker container on my Unraid NAS, which is also where the local library is stored. When I signed up to Roon, I was going to build a NUC to act as both core and endpoint, but was...- Stu79

Thanks. I was looking at the Allo device myself, then I found lots of forum posts with people debating about the sonic differences between PSUs and that kind of put me off. I don't want to get into all that stuff, I just want something that's technically good enough to do a TT2 justice without...- Stu79

Technical question on sources for TT2: I've been trying out Roon the last few days I'm seriously thinking about signing up, which leads me to think about having a dedicated streaming device, rather than just using my laptop as I do now with Hugo. Does the galvanic isolation that TT2 benefits...- Stu79

Someone posted about the rattle before and RW replied that it was the metal pushbuttons. Hopefully it will sound somewhat better playing music! Thanks for sharing your lead time. I'm expecting it to take the full 12 weeks I was quoted.- Stu79

That's interesting, thanks Mike. I expect I'll stick with the safe option and keep my H1. A spare PSU is all I need, and the original is nothing exotic. I've also done the battery replacement before and wouldn't be afraid to do it again. I even keep a sticker on the underside to remind me of...- Stu79

Speaking of power supplies....... Once I get my TT2, I was intending to keep the Hugo 1 as my second DAC for both on the road and as a source in my old HiFi system. The issues with this are lack of a desktop mode and the need to keep removing the PSU to take with me (or buy another one). Mojo...- Stu79

I was quoted 12 weeks by Nintronics here in the UK. That was 3 weeks ago. Only 9 left! :smirk:- Stu79

Never had the privilege of owning an Amiga, I had the Atari ST. Our first home computer was a 48k speccy - one of those little rubber keyed bad boys! I still remember the mesmerising effect of watching the horizontal stripes while the games loaded from the external cassette player.- Stu79

Maybe. I'm sure Bill Gates would agree........after all, 640k RAM should be enough for anyone, right?- Stu79

I'm hoping, if I start saving now, I might just acquire Mscaler 2 with 2M taps before THAT becomes obsolete!- Stu79

Yeah I've had (still have) plenty of time to consider cancelling TT2 and going for H2 +Mscaler instead, but it's not happening. TT2 is my dream and I'm going to have it and enjoy it! :grinning: I was just observing the irony of how saving for one big upgrade to get the best value hasn't...- Stu79

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
January 2018, the batteries failed in my Hugo 1 and the 2 was on sale at £1400. I decided to demo it and heard clear benefits, but decided to hold off and go for a bigger step up to TT2. Now I've committed all my budget on TT2 and I find out everyone has been saying it's better to have a H2...- Stu79
