Monolith M1570 Over Ear Open Back Balanced Planar Headphones

I've got a huge head so distribution of weight on the top isn't a problem. Lack of clamp without bending the headband is though, it will just slide off my ears if I lean back or forward as its default position. Anyone have a suggestion for a balanced cable for the weird wired 1570 by the way?

nah, haven't tried the velour pads yet but I doubt I'll like them. my playlist includes a lot of electronic.

Monolith M1070 Over Ear Open Back Planar Headphones

Snagged a pair on Amazon's open box for $180, great for that price. M1060c open back had better bass though, but these are better balanced and more comfy.

Is it safe to buy Monolith Desktop amp/dac (open box) from monoprice?

How much would shipping cost? From US I'd say 100% yes its safe, but depends if potential returns or RMAs will come out of pocket for international.

Amazon launches Music HD with lossless streaming

The my soundtrack thing they have is actually pretty neat for narrowing down genres you like, been using it almost exclusively lately. That said, when I first tried HD when it first came out I couldn't tell a difference, could have been bad windows settings. I tried it again yesterday and I...

    Takstar HF 580 Planar Headphones

of the earpads I tried the 1060 sheepskin yielded to best results for my taste. I have the aiva v1 pads though, but still, not a fan as my ears touch the driver enclosure with those.

Monoprice Monolith Desktop THX Amp/DAC (#24459) - Impressions Thread

Totally depends on the type of music you listen to in my opinion. I like dirac but I find it most useful for 70s rock, when stereo was still a new gimmick and the recordings liked to alternate channels all the goddamn time. Super irritating on a headphone without crossfeed.

Denon AH-D5200 (little brother of the AH-D7200)

I somehow doubt the 7200 improves directly on anything from the 5200, as the 5200 came out nearly 2 years after the 7200. They're probably just different.

Yeah, at the time I bought my 5200, ebay was pretty heavily flooded with 7200s ending 400-500. Now with the rona, the demand for headphones, chairs(look at what happened with used herman miller aeron pricing) and other daily use office peripherals went up.

TH610 lacks any bass impact, its almost like a planar. It does sound very clean elsewhere though, but I'm probably gonna end up selling mine as I only use it for TV and movies and mostly because its comfy. Honestly, gonna end up selling everything but my 5200 and HF 580, since I modded it so...

I run everything off Monolith THX 788, though I will once in a while use ES100/E1DA Powerdac.

yeah got my 5200 from ebay NiB for $350 and my TH-610 used with a broken hinge for $74, which I repaired with 2 zipties. The 610 is just boring compared to the 5200 imo, and the 5200 EQ's much better. The only leg up the 610 has is comfort (stock pad material is great, headband is great and it...
