Yes. The iFi support did come back to me on the support ticket and basically charging is only possible with the supplied cable (USB Type-A => USB C), but not with a standard USB Type-C cable (e.g. a true USB Type-C (PD) to Type-C (PD) cable). They are looking into changing the hardware...
