So guys, I discovered what the buzzing was. It wasn't electromagnetic interference as most of you suggested. I believe someone suggested something about ungrounded sockets...? Well, turns out there is only one ungrounded socket in our house and there is a lamp plugged into it. When it's...

    Music along these lines?

Thanks for all the recommendations guys, definitely checking a lot of these out. (Oh, and as for Rush, ELP, etc: I definitely have all of their stuff. I just didn't want to enumerate on Prog Rock.) Thanks again!

    Music along these lines?

Hey guys, I just wanted to see what you guys thought about my current music library and how I should expand it. I am kind of starting from the ground up on my FLAC library. Here are the artists I listen to that I really like; who else do you think I'd like? Progressive Yes Camel...

Alright, the buzzing could be coming from something else. Don't know what though. There are three iPhones in this house (mine is off and the other ones are a floor below me) but I still hear the buzzing. I there some kind of shielding material I could line the compass with? It's driving...

Ok, here's something that's very weird. I just tried to hookup the toslink again. As soon as I plugged it in... The buzzing is back, and it's different. It's the same noise, but now it seems like it's transmitting in Morse code. It keeps doing short, intermittent buzzes followed by long...

Alright, here's a question for you guys. I am trying to use the Pre-Amp on my Compass with my Rega P1 turntable. I plug in the RCA L/R from the turntable to the corresponding jacks on the compass, turn on the pre-amp switch, plug in my headphones and start the TT up... No sound. Ideas?

    Help me expand my library?

Hey there guys, I was wondering if you guys could recommend me some new albums to listen to. Any genre really. The only qualification: I'd like an album that physically sounds good. It's well mixed, etc. I just got a new pair of cans and an amp and I want to test them out on some...

The most heartbreaking guitar solos into prog / rock?

I think the one that really gets me is on And You and I by Yes... When Steve Howe comes in on the slide steel it's incredibly powerful... Also on Soon on the Relayer album. Steve Hackett (the master of sustain) has some very powerful solos on Selling England by the Pound.
